A two‑day, high‑energy innovation challenge connecting students from across Northwest Iowa to solve real‑world problems through design thinking.
About The Event
Hosted by Iowa’s West Coast Initiative and the Morningside University Arnold Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development, Launch It brings together students from different schools, majors, and backgrounds. Over 20 hours, participants collaborate to tackle challenges in manufacturing, technology, and agriculture using human‑centered design.
Who Can Join
- College/university students from Northwest Iowa
- Apply individually — teams are formed at the event
- No experience required — all majors welcome
The Experience
Day 1:
- Meet mentors, entrepreneurs, and fellow innovators
- Join high-energy networking and team-building
- Form cross-campus teams
- Begin brainstorming with real-world input from industry experts
Day 2:
- Refine and test solution prototypes
- Work with coaches to perfect your pitch
- Prizes: 3rd place; $500, 2nd place; $750, 1st place; $1,000

Using creativity, problem‑solving, and communication skills, you will solve challenges in Northwest Iowa. You’ll have the chance to collaborate with students you may not meet otherwise. Additionally, compete for cash prizes while also growing your professional network and gaining valuable real‑world experience.
